Overview 

Synopsys' DesignWare Audio IP solution includes audio and stereo analog-to-digital converters (ADC), digital-to-analog converters (DAC) and codecs for ultra-compact audio, Hi-Fi audio, enhanced hi-fi audio and advanced audio drivers. These solutions enable record/playback functionality in today's high-performance consumer audio applications, as well as signal processing, signal conditioning, signal selection and mixing, clock management and recovery, power management, and reference and bias generation. The DesignWare Audio IP solution provides the broadest and most flexible set of audio functions, allowing for the best balance between functions and area/power.

Until recently, high-end audio functions have only been available on standalone chips or discrete, non-optimized analog IP components, posing integration barriers along with increased risk, cost and time-to-market. As the leading provider of audio IP, Synopsys offers a robust audio IP solution that delivers performance levels similar to discrete components and significantly eases the integration effort of audio IP into embedded system-on-chip (SoC) designs.
